One Earth Matters provides a design service for urban and rural
properties that responds to an age of peak oil, global warming and
environmental change. We do this by designing landscapes to be
beautiful, functional, contemporary, and sustainable.
For
us, the most important thing is to understand our clients and exactly
what they want to achieve. With this in mind, we investigate site
patterns, including the slope, soil, sunshine, rainfall, and vegetation
characteristics. This information is integrated into a
comprehensive design for a vibrant, sustainable landscape that will
nurture the human spirit.
Our
designs are created for ease of maintenance, regardless of our clients'
level of experience or available time. We provide a service from
start to finish and take pleasure in working with clients to ensure
their project is completed to a high standard. We have strong
working relationships with a range of specialist contractors who share
our environmentally-conscious principles.
One
Earth Matters is based in Christchurch and was founded by Carl Pickens,
a Landscape Architect with 10-plus years' experience in the industry, a
background in Organic Horticulture and a passion for sustainable design.
